The breathtaking Christ the King Catholic Church was the location for Courtney and Evan’s wedding ceremony this past May.  It is such an amazingly beautiful church, as you can see from the photos below.  The day was full of rain from start to finish, but it did not dampen (haha) the festivities one bit.  The reception followed at the newly renovated (last year) Tower Club.  It is a gorgeous space with a fab view of downtown Dallas at night!  The bride’s cake was one of our favorite things about this wedding, as it had charms on ribbon baked into the cake for all the bridesmaids to pull and see their “fortune”.  :-)   And wasn’t Courtney’s wedding gown just divine?  LOVED it!  Beautiful woman, beautiful dress.

Courtney & Evan had their rehearsal dinner at the Nasher Sculpture Center.  It was crisp and fresh and lovely, with a green and white color palette.  Cocktails were enjoyed outside in the Garden — joyfully, the weather was perfect!  After enjoying appetizers and live music, they moved indoors to partake in a delicious dinner from Wolfgang Puck.  Inside, the tables were decorated with beautiful floral arrangements in tall glass vases. White porcelain doves were tiny accents throughout the decor.  Postcards from the museum were on each table, so that guests could write their well wishes for the bride and groom.  After the fabulous 4-course dinner, the evening concluded with toasts and a slideshow of the bride and groom “through the years”.

Looking for a New “Something Blue” Idea?

Try one of these fun twists on the old tradition:

Nail polish — in either a baby blue or midnight blue…on your toenails, of course, not your fingernails!

Shoes — look for dyeable shoes in a cute strappy sandal and custom color to your favorite shade of blue

Jewelry — now is a great time to borrow your mother’s (or grandmother’s) sapphires

Dress Embroidery — have your name or monogram and wedding date stitched to the inside lining of your gown

Bouquet Ribbon Embroidery — have your initial or monogram or wedding date embroidered on the satin ribbon used to tie your bouquet

And when all else fails…add a little blue into your lingerie or garter!  ;-)

We enjoyed a lovely fashion show at the Intercontinental Hotel in September.  These designer gowns are designed by Badgley Mischka and available at Stanley Korshak.

Lauren and Josh picked a beautiful July day — 7/11 — for their wedding.  Brenna worked hard to make sure the day went super-smoothly…and with this fantastic combination of venues and vendors, it went perfectly.  Ceremony - Perkins Chapel, Reception – Arlington Hall/Marisa Ritter, Photography – VIM Studio/Paul Dyer, Floral – Fete des Fleurs, Video - Turquoise Video, Cakes – Frosted Art, and Makeup - Mayra Rams-Sanabria.

I saw this on the Brides of North Texas blog today and had to steal it….I had a bride do this a few years ago and thought it was such a great idea.  Thanks for the reminder, Brides of North Texas!  If you haven’t checked out the Brides of North Texas site / blog ~ you should – www.bridesofnorthtexas.com

“This idea is so sweet it gave us goose bumps! After the proposal, the future bride and groom start journals recording their thoughts/feelings/emotions from the day of proposal up until the big day arrives. On the wedding day, they exchange the journals as their gifts to one another. This unique idea is sure to pull at the emotional strings and make for a memorable gift! You can have custom journals made or purchase some like the ones designed by Elum above. Elum products can be found locally at Needle In A Haystack in Dallas, Swoozie’s in Dallas and Southlake, The Write Selection in Dallas, and P.S. The Letter in Fort Worth. For another cute and related gift, check out  “Sweetie Stats” from www.uncommongoods.com — so cute! The journal features pages that store information on your significant other including old pets, wish lists, likes and dislikes, allergies and more!  Get the 411 on your loved one and you’ll never cook the wrong meal or buy the wrong size shirt again!”

Brenna coordinated this beautiful ceremony and reception at the gorgeous Rosewood Crescent Hotel back in late June.  A huge “thank you” to all of our awesome vendors who made this a day to remember for Michelle and Dan — Alison Fuld and her team at the Crescent, Paul Dyer with VIM Studio, Brian Prescott with Simply Music, Junior at Garden Gate Floral, makeup by Lenore Caulton Downey, and the beautiful gown from Priscilla of Boston.
